Nerja is a town in the province of Malaga (Spain) with 20,000 inhabitants. It is tourist destination on the Costa del Sol.
Located about 50km east of Malaga city and about 100km from Granada. We also note that Nerja is only an hour away from Malaga International Airport, making this an easily accessible destination.To reach take the E-15/A-7 towards Motril and after thirty miles take the exit for Nerja Costa, while to get from Granada take the motorway E-902/A-44 to Motril and then take the E-15/A-7.
The town grew around a small coastal village which have gradually been added(thanks mostly to tourism) residential areas, designed to not distort as much as possible Mediterranean character.
The center’s main attraction is definitely the Balcony of Europe , a beautiful lookout point offering a breathtaking view of the sea and the beautiful beaches of the city.
The surroundings of the urban area are characterized by spectacular scenery accessible thanks to the many hiking and trekking, even if the natural spectacle most famous of area is undoubtedly the caves, located only 3km from the center.
A chance discovery by three guys, January 12, 1959, boast spectacular dimensions, the longest know stalactite in Europe.
